1. Introduction
Purpose of this meeting is to bring people uptodate with the recent changes to the CIC portal, the topics that were discussed in the last EGEE COD-11 meeting in Athens and the expected changes of the work structure for 2007.
2. Recent developments
- CIC portal version 4 released, alarm based ticket handling, increased amount of work with additional implemented tests (more to come).
- V.P. found new CIC portal comfortable to work with and generally an improvement
- Discussions at COD-11 included:
* prioritization and classification of alarm is needed (proposals can be found on the agenda page of COD-11 linked also on the agenda for this meeting)
* lead on backup team to share the workload in 2007 -> so reduced interval for COD DECH duties by half
* Members of COD Dech who were not yet present at any EGEE wide COD meeting were encouraged to participate in future meetings
* We were also encouraged to participate more in COD activities that are not strictly related to the duty shifts like for example the hosting of failover services
* Regional security officer on duty the same time as COD: COD has to verify that they are aware of security tickets, but there is no need to follow up on them. Any incidence worth noting to be included in the handover report for the end of the COD shift.
* the handover report should be commented on the following weekly Operations meeting. Any decisions that were taken at this meeting have to be copied to the handover report for the following teams to notice
* Tickets can be assigned to COD. Cases include failures that are difficult to pin down on a single site and other issues where more people have to be involved and where longer term issues can be followed up.
* The operations manual has been posted into a wiki page. A draft operations manual is collecting recent changes (see links on COD-11 agenda page)
- the planning for 2007 is out and availabilty should be checked by each of us
(C.K. asked for a possible replacement for the shift end of January. V.P. agreed , but needs to confirm)
3. Organizational matters
As agreed in our last COD DECH meeting people were willing to take on further activities apart from the weeks on duty.
C.P. agreed to host the GOCDB failover service at ITWM once the new version is out.
K.C. agreed to continue issuing regional tickets for cases decided in our regional operations meetings
C.K. agreed to take an active role in improving and editing the operations manual
V.P. was not able to take on more work and indicated he might not be able to fulfil all PMs dedicated to him for this task.
P.K. and C.W. were both absent from this meeting but have approximately half the PMS than other members and thus cannot be expected to take on more work in addition to their duty weeks.
It was encouraged that people attend the forthcoming COD-12 meeting in Karlsruhe and to register themselves.
Everyone present at the meeting agreed to participate. (thanks for that)
4. AOB
Next COD-DECH meeting is planned for the 10th of January, 2007.
K.C.: are there any plans to do 24x7 for COD ?
C.K.: so far there are no such plans. (Priority is on ensuring 24x7 support at major sites first)
There are minutes attached to this event.
