Notes
- DA + LG reported on the latest progress on the BFCLHC (Fesa) side
- Re-engineered optics handling
- Implemented FB on/off commands and respective acquisitions for the orbit, energy and radial loops
- Implemented resets for the orbit, energy and radial loops
- Moved most of the fields in the original Settings property to the appropriate Cmd/Settings/Acquisition property according to the relevant feedback loop
- DA: suggested a series of tests that already be performed including testing all matrix values (RM + U + S + V) but also some function player functionalities like setting up reference orbit and optics changes, arming and playing these back
- BFCLHC sanity check of twiss parameters
- SJ: suggested that it would be nice to have sanity checks for the uploaded twiss values
- JW: agrees that it may be possible to do it but not straightforward and requires some thinking
- SJ: it's still possible to implement the mechanism to do it even if the sanity limits are still to be defined
- Action - DA + LG: check code and make a proposal for implementing this
- BPM concentration Vs BPMs used for feedback
- AC: asked if we can remove the BPMWF BPMs
- JW: mentioned that for the logging it's nice to have this data available for the users, also for backward compatibility
- AC + MH + JW discussed different possibilities to manage the addition of these BPMs to YASP so that both the testing works and YASP remains neat and manageable
- In the end, we all agreed to investigate the possibility of having the feedback and concentration functionalities detached and independent from each other
- Action - DA + LG: check code for the feasibility of logging all BPMs in mapping but disabling some for the FBs (extra column in .mapping file) - of course, if RM now becomes smaller, this is a strong motivation for eradicating the bootstrap file altogether
- Generation of BPM mapping file from LSA
- SJ: suggested that BPM mapping file could be generated from a database (maybe LSA?). Also suggested that a meeting with Manuel Berges could be useful in order to understand where all the BPM information can be extracted from
- MH: asked whether these mapping/calibration files should be version controlled
- JW: clarified that these files are already version controlled under an OP project in gitlab
- JW: mentioned he can extract this info from LSA and build the BPM2CRATE mapping file
- Planning
- SJ: asked about the plans for more ambitious refactoring of the FESA side of the LHC feedbacks regarding
- Bootstrap file
- DA: still on my backlog to remove it
- Eradicate Root
- DA: very much desirable but requires prior agreement on a BFCLHC version that can be used for the next restart. I.e. we need excellent code coverage and test validation of a BFCLHC version before moving on with this more ambitious refactoring
- Management
- SJ: suggested having an indico page for the meeting where we can at least put meeting notes
- AC: suggested meeting notes can also be added to gitlab doc repo for the LHC feedbacks
- Action - DA: create indico page, add meeting notes and send link to all
