N. Thompson emphasizes the variable polarization section will be used in the Soft X-ray setup, as in the Hard X-ray configuration polarization will be managed through the beam line.

N. Mirian asks about the gap choice. N. Thompson replies it is mainly driven by wakefield studies. T. Schmidt comments it could be designed more aggressive in the afterburner section.

J. Gethmann comments the 4.2 mm value is a result from studies on the current tuning on a_w

T. Schmidt remarks Apple-X has the same wavelength reach in both polarizations.

F. Nguyen observes minor differences between the 4-magnets and 8-magnets configurations in M. Kokole's results.

T. Schmidt remarks on the features of more sorting configurations.

T. Milharcic emphasizes that how errors are distributed matters more than the error absolute value.

N. Thompson comments on tolerating larger errors in the Afterburner than in the SASE section.

T. Schmidt remarks that T. Milharcic systematic work is very detailed, and should be more than enough for a concept design report.

T. Schmidt concludes emphasizing that cryogenic undulators will be needed to reach for the requested FEL performance.
