Enabling privacy notice for WLCG services

Europe/Zurich
Julia Andreeva (CERN)

Participants:

Andreas, Dario, Joel, Latchezar, Maarten, Gian Pietro, Julia

The meeting was focused only on the experiment specific services, not central WLCG services. Central WLCG services will be followed up by WLCG Operations Coordination with service providers. Some services which are provided by CERN might have already RoPO (Record of Processing Operations) drafts.

Experiments have already worked on privacy notices for collaboration data and have corresponding drafts in place. LHCb has already created Dirac RoPO which is waiting for approval.

Julia and Maarten suggested that the WLCG generic privacy notice template which has been approved by the WLCG Management Board can be used for some experiment specific grid services as it is, while for some of them it can be  customized as needed. Andreas asked whether the WLCG generic privacy notice is compliant with GDPR and suggested that before using it for experiment specific grid services, this needs to be confirmed.

Next steps:

- Julia will follow up with legal experts regarding WLCG generic privacy notice compliance with GDPR.

- Experiment representatives will check the table with experiment-specific services on the twiki page and make sure that it is up to date.

- We will meet again in 2-3 weeks when there is better understanding regarding compliance of the WLCG generic privacy notice with GDPR.
