Conditioning of the Xbox1 klystron started on Tuesday. Current voltage is 352 kV. Gerry thinks 450 kV will be reached on Friday and will need an additional week to make the full conditioning in the CPI procedure.
Xbox2 run up to 23 MW. Current target power is 35 MW. Nothing especial to signal and operation should continue in the same way.
Xbox3 ran flat at 27.1 MW, the equivalent to 120 MV/m. During the weekend some breakdown-type events increased the BDR. Amelia has investigated and found the gauge next to the load in line 2 gives a value much higher than the rest. It should be broken as this is orders or magnitude. Threshold has been put at higher value for this gauge. She observed some events on which the BD-current saturates but there is no significant reflected power prpobably because they happen at the end of the pulse.Two power scans were done on Monday and Tuesday
Analysis from Xiaowei shows that the original BD spot in line matches the previous tests on forward direction. The BDs have since migrated to the first cell.
Marca has looked into the trend data and found a high dark current after the event of 27th July that decays slowly afterwards to previous values. Vacuum data also shows a large spike at the same time.
We will run still this week at the same top value and try to analyse the current BD looking at dark current and other interlocks. We should keep doing regular power scans to see if field emission comes down.
All boxes need to be switched off by Wednesday evening as electrical tests will be done on Thursday early morning.
