"WISArD: Searches for exotic weak currents"

Description

Two main experimental approaches lead us to physics beyond the standard model: one is to perform collider experiments at very high energies to find evidence of new particles, and the second one uses low energy beta decay experiments to determine different aspects of the weak interaction. The latter approach is the central method of the WISArD (Weak Interaction Studies with 32Argon Decay) Experiment. In particular, the beta-neutrino angular correlation coefficient gives direct access to possible exotic contributions in the Standard Model (SM), i.e., scalar and tensor current contributions.

In the present seminar, a report is presented for the simultaneous measurements of the beta-neutrino angular correlation coefficient for both the super-allowed Fermi transition and the Gamow-Teller transitions followed by the emission of delayed protons from 32Ar decay.
