Cosmology from galaxy clustering: a pedagogical review

In this talk I will review one of the largest ongoing programs in cosmology—learning about the universe from distribution of galaxies on large scales. I will give motivation for this program, explain the main science goals, discuss some of the major challenges and present some recent progress, both in theory and data analysis.
