Discussion of the statement below: Following the latest discussions on new applications requirements we'd like to point out that we consider them as highly relevant and will include them in the overall requirements list (https://uimon.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/EGEE/PriorityList). Given the current workload on JRA1 and SA3 (see the JRA1 workplan at https://uimon.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/EGEE/EGEEgLiteWorkPlans), and the continuous effort on testing and certification of current gLite components plus the pending upgrade to scientific linux 4 and VDT 1.3 SA3 is currently pursuing with priority, it is very unlikely, the project will be able to devote effort on these in the coming months. Towards the end of project year 1 (March 2007) the situation will be re-assessed for the program of work for year 2. This means that the earliest time when these will be reflected in a gLite release will, depending on the priority assigned and the amount of work needed, unlikely to be before PM18. There are several activities outside of JRA1 and SA3 that could potentially help with some of these requirements. We plan to set up a community area under NA4 where these developments can be made available. NA4 will provide further details.
