        POSIPOL workshop 1h
        The POSIPOL2010 workshop was held in June at KEK. It was the fifth in the POSIPOL series of workshops dealing with the physics aspects, the design issues, and the open questions concerning polarized positron sources in the framework of the next-generation electron-positron colliders ILC and CLIC. There are several approaches to provide the large numbers of positrons required for the future linear colliders. One idea is "the undulator scheme", which is the current ILC baseline design. Another one is “the laser-Compton scheme” based on e-/e+ pair creation from polarized gamma-rays, which is the CLIC option for polarized e+. The "pseudo-conventional" scheme based on hybrid targets using channeling was also discussed. A brief overview of the present R&D status for e+ sources and the workshop achievements will be presented.
