I will talk about some possible links between cosmic inflation and dark matter. First I will briefly summarise inflation within the Standard Model of particle physics, namely the Higgs inflation. The existence of dark matter demands something beyond the Standard Model. I will discuss the realization of the Higgs inflation in Higgs-portal dark matter models and some connections between inflation and dark matter. Once the running of couplings is taken into account, a flat region in the scalar potential may appear near the end of inflation, where the standard slow-roll assumption breaks down. This so-called ultra-slow-roll inflation has been extensively studied. I will comment on the inflation with Gauss-Bonnet couplings in the context of ultra-slow-roll inflation.
