      MEDICIS

      • The first importation of Sm-153 (T1/2 = 46 hours) from NCBJ-POLATOM was mass separated last week. A sample was used yesterday for radiochemistry development and another one has been collected for near-future used at ISOLDE.
        • We received the sample as SmCl3 form instead of nitrate, which showed completely different release behavior/temperature.
      • #848M-ThC-surface is currently under indirect irradiation for Ra/Ac-225 production.
      • It will be followed from tomorrow morning by a direct irradiation --> same target but change of trolley necessary (as well as PoT reset).
      • A second direct irradiation is planed for irradiation of a Ta target for Tm-165 mass separation.
      • HOWEVER, since this morning MEDICIS robot is not usable due to an hard drive issue. Ricardo reported that he could access the KUKA apps to take control of the robot however after a while the screen turns blue reporting a memory issue. He is working on the fix but looks like it is an issue that only KUKA can fix. There will be more news in the afternoon.

      Physics

      • On HRS, VITO is taking neutron-rich K beams to measure magnetic moments with high precision in order to study the nuclear structure around N = 28. Generally, things are going smoothly and the team already managed to measure the large part of the physics goal, but they struggle with the final objective due to reasons related to nature/the experimental setup but not related to isolde.

      Schedule
