Summary of Meeting

• The ASP2026 student application period has officially closed as of January 10, 2026.

• We received 435 applications 

• We went through the Application database. If you've volunteered to assist in this crucial task, you should already have received instructions from the ICTP on how to access the application database and input your written reviews

• We demonstrated the application review process and dedicated significant time to discussion.

• IOC has shared with you:

• Excel document titled "ASP2026-Selections"

• We've organized the review process into 7 specialized sub-committees. 

• Each sub-committee is composed of 2 reviewers and is assigned a set of countries with approximately 35-81 applications to review 

• We've organized the sub-committees based on regions and specific characteristics of the applications.

• Word document titled "SelectionCommittee-ASP2026"

• We discussed how we'll be rating the applicants

• The review will start officially on January 17, 2026, and must be completed by February 15, You may begin reviewing applications; however, we strongly recommend prioritizing complete applications first. 

• Please don’t review any applications until you have been briefed and you have understood what is expected from you as a reviewer

• This process ensures a thorough and fair evaluation of our applicants. Please review the document for more detailed instructions, and if there are any questions or clarifications needed, feel free to ask

• Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 17, at 14:00 UTC.
