We are launching a new NextGenTriggers initiative: NGT Whiteboard Sessions (NGT WHISE), aimed at strengthening cross-WP research and creating space to discuss ideas at a very early stage. The scope is deliberately open and no topic is off limits.
The sessions will take place one Friday afternoon per month, each focused on a specific theme. The format is intentionally lightweight, with minimal slides and a strong focus on discussion, returning to the whiteboard as the main tool.
Each theme will be introduced by a guiding question circulated in advance to stimulate discussion. The Organising Committee will summarise the discussions and distil them into concrete research directions, which will later be reviewed by an Editorial Board and presented quarterly at the NGT PMC meetings.
First session
Theme: End-to-end Machine Learning challenges in High-Energy Physics
Guiding question:
What is preventing ML in HEP from reaching true breakthroughs? Is something missing across data, theory, orchestration or deployment to get us there?
Coffee and snacks will be provided.
Please register so we know how many participants to expect.
