Welcome to the Global Meeting of the European Laboratory Directors Group.

The event, which is by invitation only, will be held at Brookhaven National Laboratory, June 6-7, 2024.

The European Laboratory Directors Group (LDG) is pleased to announce the 2nd Global Laboratories Forum that will take place at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in New York, USA. The LDG is mandated by the CERN Council to bring together the senior leadership of national and international laboratories working within particle physics and particle astrophysics, including Directors, or senior Laboratory Representatives, of the largest European Laboratories from CERN member states.

The Global Laboratories Forum aims to widen this reach, bringing together the leadership of major worldwide laboratories to meet, engage, and discuss issues of common interest.

Key topics for the 2nd Forum include:

  • Strategy: Balancing long-term developments plans for future facilities with shorter term requirements
  • Sustainability: Assessing and addressing sustainability issues in large-scale scientific endeavor.
  • Building for the future: Enabling and facilitating detector and accelerator R&D activities across worldwide laboratories

The Forum will also feature the 2nd Workshop on the European Accelerator R&D Roadmap, with the goal of exploring the impact on future physics activities, and the interplay with international activities in this area.
