CLICdp WG: Vertex and Tracking Detector Technology
This WG coordinates the R&D for the vertex detector and the silicon tracker at CLIC. Taking into account the CLIC physics requirements, the study covers all related detector aspects (e.g. sensors, readout, interconnects, services, powering, supports, assembly and cooling). Sensor and ASIC design efforts and performance measurements with prototype assemblies are accompanied by simulation studies. Technologies under study for the vertex detector include high-resolution hybrid silicon detectors comprised of ultra-thin planar or active pixel sensors coupled to low-power readout chips with fast time tagging. For the tracking detector, also integrated sensor technologies suitable for large-area production are explored.
