Description
FCC 7 Civil engineering and technical infrastructure: Volker Mertens Abstract: Besides unprecedented demands on key accelerator components like magnets, radiofrequency or vacuum systems the FCC will also raise new challenges to civil engineering and the wide spectrum of technical infrastructure. An overview of the present state of the studies in selected domains will be given, including geology and civil engineering, transport and handling, cryogenics, distribution of electrical energy, conventional and radiation safety as well as availability and reliability. FCC 8 SC magnets, SRF, Key technologies: Luca Bottura Abstract: The realisation of future circular colliders like FCC-hh or FCC-ee has as a pre-requisite new developments and substantial advancements in many technological areas. The lecture will give an overview on the basic principles and the state of the art of key technologies for the FCC machines. The R&D plans and the FCC goals for high-field superconducting magnets, superconducting RF and other key technologies will be presented.
