Abstract

Motivated by recent approaches to the black hole evaporation process, we study the dynamics of a class of excited pure states in a CFT with a boundary. We follow the evolution of the entanglement of the radiation, and discuss its universal properties at early and late time. In two dimensions, we observe that the radiation of a heavy state in a theory with large central charge thermalizes locally, and gives rise to a growing coarse grained entropy.
