Description

The direct production of electroweak supersymmetric particles, including sleptons, charginos, and neutralinos, is motivated by naturalness and dark matter arguments. However, the small production cross sections lead to many challenges, resulting in less stringent limits than for supersymmetric particles produced via strong interactions, leaving the possibility that the data still hides new physics at relatively low mass. Cutting-edge reconstruction and analysis techniques are employed to reach sensitivity to under-explored hypotheses and models. This talk will highlight the most recent results of searches performed by the ATLAS experiment for supersymmetric particles produced via electroweak processes, targeting both models where R-parity is conserved and models where R-parity is violated.
