Covid-19 related regulations

With the current development of the situation, we target hosting a hybrid meeting, with up to 40 participants on site and a zoom connection for the virtual participants. The "3G" rule will be enforced for in-person attendance. Please be ready to show your certificate upon arrival. The 3G regulation of the TU Dortmund is described on its website on in German or in English.

It is strongly recommended to wear medical masks indoors. Speakers are allowed to remove their masks provided the sufficient distance is preserved to other participants.

Please choose your seat at the start of the event and do not change it for the rest of the day.

Accommodation

We have reserved 30 single rooms at Hotel Esplanade (Burgwall 3, 44135 Dortmund, map, https://www.esplanade-dortmund.de) for the night between Thursday and Friday 7./8.10.2021. They are blocked for us until 26.08.2021. To use this offer, please contact the hotel directly and provide them with the keyword "FSP-Meeting".
Participants have to pay themselves (79 EUR). 

When arriving, note the check in time starts from 15:00 and the check out is until 12:00.

Food

The social dinner for the workshop participants will be on Thursday 7/Oct at 7 PM at Wenkers (https://wenkers.de/). The "3G" rule will be enforced. We will send a dedicated email with the details to all in-person participants shortly before the workshop start.

The coffee breaks and lunch will be offered at the workshop location in conformity to the safety rules.

WiFi connection

The eduroam network is available in the Pavillion and throughout the campus.

Getting there

The meeting will be held at the Rudolf-Chaudoire-Pavillion at the South campus of the TU Dortmund.

From the train station (Dortmund Hbf):
Take the S1 regional train (direction Solingen/Essen/Bochum, usually departs from platform 7 every 15 minutes) to the station Dortmund-Universität. The train stops at the "north campus" of the university. To reach the south campus, where the event will be held, change to the 
H-Bahn (hanging monorail) in the direction of Eichlinghofen/Campus-Süd (every 10 minutes) and alight at the Campus-Süd stop. See our map above for the details.
From the hotel/city center:
a) Walk to the train station & follow the route from there as described above.
b) Take the U42 tram line (every 10 minutes) at stops Brügmannplatz or Reinoldikirche in the direction of Hombruch/Grotenbachstraße. Alight at the "Barop Parkhaus" stop and take the bus 440 (direction Oespel/Germania/Lütgendortmund, every 10 minutes in peak hours) till "Eichlinghogen H-bahn" stop. From there, either enjoy a 5-minutes walk or take the H-bahn (every 10 minutes) to the Campus Süd stop.

Public transport tickets
One can either use vrr.de (or other apps) or the ticket machines at the train/U-bahn/H-bahn stations. For one-way trip you need the "A3" zone, regular price 2.90 EUR.
