      -last team meeting was on July 16 -we had many summer students (and very good presentations) -we welcome Vassil as new technical student with Axel -Bertrand is still sick (back on Monday). Philippe attends a workshop on interpreters in Washington -Task Force is in a sleeping status -xrootd moving from CVS to GIT -Alice moving to CMAKE/CDASH, etc (already done) -see Alfio's presentation at rd-multicore meeting (yesterday) about using GPUs with RooFit -Rene is away next week

      release 5.27/06 on September 29 and 5.28/00 on December 15 20m

      Development release 5.27/06 =========================== At the AF yesterday it was decided that we will release 5.27/06 end of September and 5.28 around December 15. Atlas will use 5.26xx for about one year Alice already using 5.27/05 and waiting for 5.27/06 LHCb ready to switch to 5.27/06 then 5.28 in December CMS testing 5.27/05 This dev version is more or less what we have in SVN now. It requires a new version of xrootd (Gerri action before September 15) Hoping that many coverity reports will be fixed before this release PRO version 5.28 on December 15 =============================== The main feature of this version will be the speed-up code in I/O if Philippe manages to solve the POOL back incompatibility. Anything else expected (new classes?, I know about THEfficiency)

      Thanks to AXEL for introducing coverity and managing the runs. Many bugs already fixed/submitted. Be careful!!! a lot of false positive reports -when calling Fortran routines (call by address) -when a class variable is initialized in a base class Urgent action required by Wouter, Fons and Joerg
