This public symposium is dedicated to the physicist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen (1845 - 1923) and his vibrant legacy today.
Röntgen studied mechanical engineering at the ETH Zürich and obtained his PhD in physics in 1869 from the University of Zürich.
I
n 2020 his 175th birthday and the 125th anniversary of his discovery of X-rays should have been celebrated, but the event had to be shifted to 2021 due to the pandemic.

The ETH Hönggerberg campus can be reached with bus lines #69, #80 and #37.

  • bus #69 from either Milchbuck or Bucheggplatz in the direction ETH Hönggerberg (final stop)
  • bus #80 from Zürich Oerlikon station in the direction Triemli (until stop ETH Hönggerberg)
  • bus #37 from Zürich Affoltern station in the direction ETH Hönggerberg (final stop)

If you're travelling via Zürich HB, take tram #11 in the direction Auzelg to Bucheggplatz and there take bus #69 in the direction ETH Hönggerberg (final stop).

A ticket valid for Zone 110 (Stadt Zürich) will be needed.
