Gabor Veres
I joined the CMS experiment in 1995 and first worked on the design of the Hadron Forward calorimeters, and then - after a detour - re-joined in 2005 within the Heavy Ion group, and later became active in the Standard Model Group. I contributed to triggering of CMS for the very first collisions in 2009, and to the very first CMS physics publication shortly after that. I coordinated various physics groups in CMS, and in my 'free time' I have guided numerous school group visits as well. Today I am a professor and the Deputy Director of the Physics Institute at the Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest), and doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
