Report on plans and progress

1.1.1 Data model documentation (Jutta)

• Evaluating how we currently document in KM3NeT (slides) and what requirements we have on good documentation (please add/comment on excel list!)
  • will need to include both data models and metadata for file/file objects
  • will need to be human readable and machine readable (testing!)
  • should be easily usable and accessible for "non experts"
• Aiming for a prototype repository with core functions beginning of 2022
• Need big feedback loop to avoid too much work

1.1.2.3 Standard data format for publication (Maarten)

• Not started yet
  • Should keep it simplistic, derive from Offline format
  • Should be usable for "everyone", internal and external, conversion and releases define setup

1.1.3 Astronomy analysis (Clancy)

• First suggestion for requirements for PS searches defined, give feedback in the document.

1.1.3.1 Real-time analyses (Jutta)

• Not started yet.

1.1.4 Oscillation analyses (Joao)

• Not started yet.
  • Presentation given at Collmeeting, so far in oscillation not published to this event
  • Aiming to publish events to reproduce analysis

1.3.1 ESCAPE (Jutta)

• Presentation of KM3NeT status at CEVO (workpackage on IVOA in ESCAPE) workshop on extending IVOA standards to UHE neutrinos (presentation)
  • Future discussion will focus on implementing IRFs in the VO (together with GADF initiative)
  • Need to discuss publication of IRFs inside KM3NeT

2.X.1 + 3.1.1 Software review (Maarten)

• Will be taken up start 2022, discussion with Kay & Mieke (from IEEE standards?) planned
  • apply review to some frameworks to develop procedure

2.X.2 + 3.1.2 Data review (Jutta)

• First meeting with DPDQ (Alba & Luigi) - slides

  • Identified four main quality steps: 1) processing control 2) Quality score for primary selection 3) Data/MC comparisons after selection 4) Processing for publishing (similar to analyses)

  • Partially test already exist, aim to get an overview

  • Next meeting 10/01/11, 2pm

  • Any (development) support from OSC or others?

• Follow-Up will be done in a git repository used to developed the data quality plan, will be migrated from google docs after some adjustments
• Suggestion: do rapid feedback loops

2.X.3 + 3.1.3 Analyses product review (Rodri)

• Planned to ask Physics WG for dedicated meeting on Analysis requirements to discuss on basis of current documents.

• Added new task to WBS: VHE open data format
  • Initiative of GADF to form a group governing the development of an open gamma ray (+ others) format, see policy proposal
  • Do we want to get actively involved?
  • Could coordinate this with grant proposal, e.g. gammapy and coordinate with CTA+KM3NeT initiative?
  • Rodri is interested to join
  • Should get feedback from Aart and people involved in common analyses.
