ASFAP Energy Physics Group Day
Context
The energy situation, which is very worrying in Africa, is evidenced by the absence, in most countries, of energy policies based on energy development master plans in the short, medium and long term. This situation is reflected, among other things, by a lack of integration of energy activities into development plans and a lack of awareness of the potential in terms of energy sources. It is therefore necessary to initiate and develop scientific cooperation at the national, sub-regional, regional and international levels to ensure that issues related to energy are taken care of by qualified human resources. For example, the renewable energies are more than ever the alternative solution to ensure the energy transition based on sustainable development. But the other kind of energy (like fossil energy, natural hydrogen, nuclear energy etc…) could be opportunities to create efficient energy management and development related to the domain to application and support the development of renewable energies which are unlimited for ensuring next generation’s need.
In this context ASFAP is a wonderful instrument to develop and accompanist African politics and stakeholders.
Objectives
The Energy Working Group Day objectives are:
- Strengthen cooperation relations between African researchers and other actors in energy;
- Identify scientific communities working in the field of energy, energy efficiency and sustainable development;
- Create a dynamic of exchange and sharing of knowledge and know-how between academics and experts;
- Have an overview and mapping on the research and innovation in energy area around Africa;
- Facilitate the collaboration between researchers working in same topics.
- Facilitate and encourage researchers to participate to the ASFAP Project in an active manner (Participate to Letter Of Interest (LOI) program)
