, Arjan, Bernhard, Mike, Reiner, Hugues, Markus, Edward, Andrea, Michele, Mirko (partially), Andrzej (partially)

GENERAL INFO:
NURIA: Discussions about “future” of MP3 are taking place with LHC/CERN Management. Activities on daily support in the CCC are now very reduced: when necessary, EICs are learning how to contact directly MPE or EPC Piquet and QPS experts. 2011 Hardware Commissioning in January will of course, require an important effort from MP3 side (several weeks with 2 or 3 shifts/day expected).
Reiner and others comments that what we need now are more automatic tools for analysis, also because CCC teams start to report less issues on the different Logbooks.
-
MARKUS: He presented the “Automatic Powering Event Analysis Tool” now available for training, check and debugging (see slides):
Important to remark how system can automatically superlock circuits. This is a new scenario for the role of MP3 Team in the CCC. System can operate in online and backup modes. Some examples of recent event were presented and analyzed by Markus.
REINER: comment on utility or not to superlock a circuit in the case of evidenced wearing of the switch of the dump in a main circuit. Markus answer that this is the typical case where tuning of the system is needed and must decide the cases where superlock will operate. System owners should decide when it is appropriate to superlock the circuit optimizing the safety of the machine and their own availability.
MP3-CCC Team is kindly asked to work with the system to report comments and tuning request.
-
NURIA: She discussed about the next 2011 HC program. This phase will take place officially from 18 Jan up to 20 Feb 2011. About 3500 tests expected. The preferred scenario for MP3-CCC Team is to work on a 2 shift/day including the weekend since resources are scarce. Condition to do this is that the EICs has enough tests to be done during the night shift in order to wait for the final signature of the tests on the morning after.
-
NURIA: HC Powering Procedure revision: list of names versus procedure was presented (see slides).
It was reminded how the HC Powering Procedures are supposed to remain “beam energy independent”. All the specificities concerning: SECTORS, NCs, BEAM OPERATION ENERGY will be contained in an independent document that will be valid for each single re-commissioning of the LHC life (ex: next 2011 re-commissioning being prepared by Hugues).
It is demanded to add to each Procedure, a Chapter indicating which specific test program is required for well know “standard” events (ex: warm-up of magnet, changes of modules, change of PS, etc.)
It is expected to present and discuss the proposed DRAFT on new revisions AT THE NEXT MEETING (i.e. 24 Novembre)
(ACTION: all the AUTHORS).
