In this discussion Gerd Kortemeyer, Director of Educational Development and Technology at ETH Zurich and Maria Dimou, CERN-Solid collaboration manager discussed the ETHZ investigation of Self-Sovereign Identities (SSI) as a more Solid-compatible way to preserve users' data sovereignty. When handling Authentication problems by being bound to a given ID provider, the user can only rely on trust and can be tracked.
Given the current plan and technical difficulties we face trying to integrate the test instance of the Community Solid Server (CSS) with the CERN SSO, it is an opportunity to discuss with Solid experts now the idea of taking SSI into consideration in the Solid specifications.
Maria will try to raise interest in such a meeting via the https://gitter.im/cern-solid/community , where all technical experts exchange ideas and plans.
Please join the gitter and contact Maria Dimou for further information on the CERN-Solid collaboration.
