2022 Meeting #2. Update CERN & NTNU

Description

Agenda for next meeting (01/06/2022) based on open points below will be detailed early next week:

 

 From CERN:

  • Provide detailed information on beam induce loads and stress fields on BIDs.
  • Retrieve FLUKA energy deposition for HRMT-43 case.
  • Create a simulation example for the loads imposed on SIgraflex layers by HRMT-43 / HRMT-56 beam impacts – assuming a linear elastic isotropic graphitic material.
  • Prepare the shipment of Irradiated samples and “virgin” material with the same specs and features to NTNU.

 

From NTNU:

  • Provide information on FIB techniques – if feasible to couple FIB with XRF or similar.
  • Continue investigation of feasible models for modelling Sigraflex. Objective: accommodate the large range deformation and delamination cases found upon HRMT-56/43 but also the cases where the layers did not delaminate and just exhibited superficial deformations (inputs on last meeting INDICO – CERN’s presentation & meeting late March INDICO – HRMT-56 and Autopsy presentations)
