The purpose of this Workshop is to engage participants in 3-4 projects related to detection and imaging and to communicating them to laymen, in an unashamedly futuristic and speculative setting.
The challenge: How to say it better than Patrick Fitzgerald*, to what a world will sensing and imaging take us?
The participants are invited to:
- extrapolate from the presented projects to imagine potential futures in which the science and technology has had significant impact
- come up with narratives that can clearly communicate the significance of the work being done at CERN and ATTRACT.
We invite SF-writers, philosophers, futurists, designers, anthropologists, political scientists, sociologists, psychologists, historians, engineers and (selected) physicists to attend. Limited seats available. Unfortunately, we cannot pay for travel and stay, but lunches, dinner and a visit to the Secrets of the Universe (CMS) will be offered, provided the COVID situation allows on-site visits.
A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
