In this lab, we will perform measurements to characterize scintillating fibres - this will include measurements of the emission spectrum at different fibre lengths, and use this data to derive the attenuation length for different wavelengths. We will then demonstrate the concept of tracking with scintillating fibres. The workshop will also include a visit to the fibre scanner lab, used to perform the fibre diameter and cladding quality control for the 11,000 km of scintillating fibres that make up the LHCb Upgrade I SciFi tracker."
