Access to CERN
To enter the CERN site during opening hours (08:00-17:45), you should go to Building 33 and present your registration confirmation letter, which has been sent to you by e-mail.
If you have booked a room at the CERN Hostel and arrive outside opening hours, you should go to the entrance of Meyrin site (Swiss side), Gate B and present your registration confirmation letter (sent by e-mail) or the confirmation of your CERN Hostel reservation to the Security Guard on duty.
At the start of the conference you should go to the AIDA kick-off meeting registration desk, main building (500), 1st floor, "Pas Perdus" (in front of the main auditorium). You will receive a badge that will be your pass during your stay and for the dinner, if you have registered.
The opening hours of the registration desk are:
Wednesday February 16th: 08:00-18:00
Thursday February 17th: 08:00-10:00
From the Airport to CERN
To get to CERN from the airport, the most convenient way is to take a taxi, which should cost about 35 CHF.
By public transportation, various options are available. For example, bus Y, direction Val-Thoiry (indicated on the front of the bus) offers direct service to CERN.
An alternative is bus 57 direction Gare Vernier-Meyrin, with connection to bus 56, direction CERN, at the stop "P+R Planche".
The whole trip can take 40-60 minutes, depending on the frequency of buses around your arrival time, please check the schedules (which are quite reliable) to plan your connection.

From Geneva to CERN
To get to CERN from downtown Geneva you may take tram 14 or 16 Direction Meyrin-Gravière to the terminus, then change to bus 56 from Meyrin-Gravière to CERN.
The tickets are purchased at the machines at the tram and bus stops. A useful ticket is "Billet tout Genève", which allows you to ride the transportation services (including changes) during 1hour.

From the Airport to Geneva
To get to Geneva from the airport you can take the train from the airport to Geneva Cornavin station. The trip takes some 10 minutes.
