Traveling to Poland

A number of flights connect Cracow airport, the John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice, to many international destinations.

From the Cracow airport you can reach the town by:

  • Train:
    A one-way ticket from Kraków Airport to Kraków Main Railway Station costs 9 PLN, i.e. about 2 EUR (see train time table)
    Train tickets can be purchased:
    - passenger terminal - level 0 (ticket machine);
    - train station (ticket machine);
    - train (ticket machine or train conductor on board).
    Payment in cash or with credit/debit card.
  • Taxi:
    There are several taxi companies operating in Kraków (e.g. Megataxi +48 12 19 625 -> 80 PLN cash i.e. about 20EUR). They can be identified by the company names or phone numbers (such as +48 12 19*** for mobile phones) marked on the vehicles. You can pay by credit card and, in most of the taxies, also by electronic card. So to be sure, ask about the payment methods while calling or entering a taxi.
    There is also another options you can chose - iCar, and then the fare approximately is 50-55 PLN (i.e. about 15 EUR) but you can pay only by cash.
    Last but not least (and recomended ) is to use UBER. Should be the cheapest option.
    Please try to avoid the Airport taxi since they are the most expensive.

  • Bus - The most accurate search engine of public transport connections with current timetables is available here. To get from the Airport to the city centre one can take a bus #208, #252 or #902. A one-way ticket costs 4.6 PLN, i.e. about 1 EUR;
