Symposium Rudolf Clausius et Journée des Jeunes Talents
Ce symposium public, organisé par la Société Suisse de Physique, avec le soutien de l'Académie suisse des sciences naturelles SCNAT et de l'EPFL, sera dédié au physicien et mathématicien Rudolf Clausius (1822 -1888). Cet événement sera l'occasion de célébrer l'anniversaire de la naissance de l'inventeur du concept de l’entropie. Plusieurs conférences porteront sur la contribution de Clausius à la thermodynamique moderne, le rôle de l'entropie dans le vivant, ainsi qu'un éclairage sur l'état actuel de la recherche, comme l'utilisation intelligente et efficace de l'énergie.
En outre, les organisateurs de tournois de sciences et de physique fourniront des informations sur leurs projets et sur la manière d'y participer.
Le grand public est cordialement invité à assister aux conférences du symposium, qui se dérouleront en français (majoritairement) et en anglais.
L'entrée est gratuite et l'inscription n'est pas obligatoire.
La combinaison de l'histoire et de la recherche moderne étant particulièrement attrayante pour les jeunes, un programme spécial a lieu le matin avant le symposium proprement dit pour des étudiants sélectionnés. Les lauréats des Olympiades suisses de physique (SwissPhO), des tournois de physiciens, du Schweizer Jugend Forscht et d'autres concours similaires pourront visiter les laboratoires de l'EPFL, recevoir des informations de première main et sentir l'atmosphère dans les laboratoires de recherche.
Le symposium aura lieu à l'EPFL à Lausanne.
Clausius Symposium and Young Talent Day
This public symposium, organized by The Swiss Physical Society, with the support of the Swiss Academy of Sciences SCNAT and EPFL, will be dedicated to the physicist and mathematician Rudolf Clausius (1822 -1888). This event will be the occasion to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the inventor of the concept of entropy. Several lectures will deal with Clausius's contribution to modern thermodynamics, the role of entropy in the living, as well as shed light on the current state of research such as smart and efficient use of energy.
Moreover, the organizers of Science and Physics Tournaments and Physics will provide information on their projects and how to take part in them.
The general public is cordially invited to attend the symposium's lectures, which will be held French (predominantly) and English.
Admission is free and registration is not required.
Since the combination of history and modern research is particularly attractive to young people, a special programme takes place in the morning before the actual symposium for selected students. Namely, the winners of the Swiss Physics Olympiad (SwissPhO), Physicists’ Tournaments, Schweizer Jugend Foscht, and similar competitions will be able to visit the laboratories at EPFL and receive first-hand information and feel the atmosphere of current research.
The symposium will take place at EPFL in Lausanne.
