News from AD HW commissioning:
Bertrand reported that the issue blocking the stochastic cooling operation has been identified at the level of the -5V power supply for amplifiers, just upstream of the kicker. This is now solved. There is still an amplifier that seems to be playing up, but it does not prevent operation, It will be fixed during next TS. A new issue was discovered preventing cooling at 300 MeV. It seems to be coming from correctors around the e-cooler. A polarity check is underway.
-Injection kicker vacuum leaks
Vasco reported on the injection kickers feedthrough recurrent vacuum leak. He explained that it is most likely due to a design fault. Tests will be carried out on a spare tank to try and find a better match. A small project has to be set-up between BI and VSC to definitively fix this annoying issue. A solution is expected to be proposed for next YETS.
-ALPHA barrack refurbishment
Maud explained the proposal for the replacement of ALPHA barrack. The project includes a new platform over the existing barrack, imposing the new barrack to be slightly smaller in surface. The upper platform will anyway not be installed during next YETS as the design is not complete yet, pending results on seismic calculations by SEM. Nevertheless the barrack should allow for installation of the pillars of the upper platform. Due to the crane refurbishment planned during next YETS, the new barrack will not be completed before end of March. The ALPHA collaboration takes notes of this. All efforts will be made to limit the time during which the experiment will be disconnected. Tests to check the concerned circuits have to be performed when possible. ALPHA and Maud to agree on a possible slot, preferably over a week-end if possible.
-AOB: Alexandre questioned about the dates of the next YETS. Official start is still planned for 31/10 although an extension till 13/11 has been requested, decision expected early July. Pbars expected back on target around W11 and start of physics expected around W16, TBC
