The QKD summer school takes place in the SwissMAP Research Station, which is located at the Hotel Les Sources in Les Diablerets, Vaud, Switzerland.
From the station of Les Diablerets, the hotel can be reached by foot in 10 minutes. You can also take the bus in front of the train station and get down at Les Diablerets, Parc des Sports.
In case you reach Switzerland by flight, the closest airports are in Zürich and Geneva. Then, you will have to take a train+bus connection to Les Diablerets.
There are several train+bus connections every hour from the airports or main stations of Zürich and Geneva. We advise you to check which one is more suitable for you on the SBB website.
The website is reliable and contains updated information on your connection. You can expect your train to be on time, and train stations have well indicated directions to bus stops and platforms. Therefore, even if you have a connection of few minutes, you can expect it to work out.
Train tickets can be bought on the SBB website. We advise you to get a point-to-point ticket, which allows you to take any train going from your departure to your destination on the day you got the ticket for (if today you buy a point-to-point ticket for the 18th of August from Zürich HB to Les Diablerets, you can get any train from midnight of the 18th to 5am of the 19th which goes from Zürich HB to Les Diablerets). If you buy the ticket early enough, you can find supersaver tickets which are cheaper but restricted to the specific train connection you have chosen.
