Abstract: Since 2022 the LHC is operating at a record high centre of mass energy of 13.6 TeV and aiming to deliver well beyond one inverse femtobarn pern per day this year. This seminar aims to explain the different parts of the LHC cycle and what crucial role they play in safe and efficient beam operation which ultimately leads to the delivery of collisions to the experiments. The limiting factors to reach even higher luminosity and energies are also outlined.
