There are many excellent dining options within a few blocks of the hotel on Granby Street that can be enjoyed as a group. Please take a look HERE and you should find something for everyone!
If you're interested in a quintessentially American activity, the Norfolk Tides AAA baseball team are playing the Durham Bulls starting at 6:35pm at Harbor Park, which is about a 15 minute walk from the conference hotel. Tickets are available at the gate or in advance (under $20) and it is a family-friendly event which features a fireworks display after the game.

For Sunday the 7th of May

** There will be a casual social event for all CHEP and WLCG Workshop attendees (and others!) on the evening of Sunday, May 7 that all are welcome to attend. Please join us at "A Scientist Walks Into A Bar..." from 6pm–7:30pm on the Marriott Rooftop (6th floor)!
** The Virginia Wine Festival is also being held in Towne Point Park over this weekend (Sat, Sun: 11am -- 6pm). This outdoor event is a short walking distance of the Marriott and Sheraton hotel. You may wish to purchase your tickets as this event may sell out!
