How to get to CERN: https://home.cern/directions

Accommodation

We recommend the ESRs to book a room in advance at the CERN hostel for the duration of the mid-term meeting and school. CERN users should be able to do this here: https://edh.cern.ch/Hostel/Home.

If you don't have a CERN account and you want to book a room at the hostel, and can't book a room yourself, please e-mail the coordinator (caterina.doglioni@cern.ch) before December 21st, 2022, otherwise you will have to find your own accommodation.

Other hotels in the Geneva / Meyrin area are below. For proximity to CERN and ease of access to public transport, staying Swiss-side is probably advisable.

Here are some of the local options most convenient for CERN. All are not far (whether by foot or a short bus-ride) from the No. 18 tram which connects direct to CERN.

Meyrin

Public Transport (Geneva)

TPG is the public transport network operator in the Geneva region, for buses, trams and boat-taxis on the lake.

CERN is most commonly accessed by the No. 18 tram, which runs from the city centre.

Social dinner

Once we have the final numbers, we will book a fondue dinner at a restaurant that is accessible by public transport from CERN. As per network events, this will be covered by the individual beneficiary's travel budget.
