Description

Symmetries play a key role in almost any context in theoretical physics. In the past year a new type of symmetry was uncovered, so-called non-invertible symmetries. Unlike standard fare symmetries they do not obey group-multiplication, but generally do not have inverses. I will give examples of such symmetries and provide some applications to QFTs in various dimensions.
