What is this for?
This workshop will present the use of electronic tools for rapid prototyping, programming for hardware projects and the big world of Internet-of-Things. No prior knowledge is needed.
The workshop is aimed at scientists, engineers and students located at CERN.
What will you learn?
In this workshop you will learn what an Arduino is and how to interface it with a sensor to measure air quality. You will make the microcontroller (Arduino) and the sensor interact with each other by writing some simple lines of code and then make some LEDs blink.
Why is it interesting?
This workshop is intended as your first steps into the vast world of Internet-of-Things. Nowadays, you are surrounded by IoT devices, so this will help your journey in the connected world.
Attendance
Each workshop is limited to 15 attendees. The required software is Arduino IDE. You are asked to bring along your own laptop (if not possible, please indicate this in the registration form). Like best things in CERN, it is free of charge
Workshop: February 8th from 18.00-20.00 at IdeaSquare.
The workshop will be run by Alberto Perro. Alberto Perro is a PhD student in Physics at the LHCb Experiment. He has worked as an embedded devices engineer for 8 years. He hosted numerous courses about Arduino, electronics and rapid prototyping.
