The IFT is in the campus of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. You can reach the campus by local train CERCANíAS stepping down at the CANTOBLANCO station.
Currently there are upgrade works and there are disruptions on the lines. In order to go from ATOCHA to CANTOBLANCO you have to take a train in direction CHAMARTÍN (there are several lines) and there take a train in the C4 or C4b lines, either to COLMENAR VIEJO or ALCOBENDAS.
You can download the app "Renfe Cercanias" on which you can select initial and final stations to get the suggested route, together with a timetable. Note however that the current version of the app is buggy and gives an error when selecting trips from Atocha to Cantoblanco.
As you exit at the Cantoblanco station, the IFT is located at the opposite side of the campus. You have to walk mostly straight, around 13'.
