The ASP2024 kickoff meeting was held on February 24, 2023 with the aim to start the preparation towards ASP2024. The main points that were discussed are:  School Venus, date, LOC and the future meetings.

The Outcome of the meeting are summaries as follows:

• A brief introduction about the school history in 2020 has been presented by Pr. Chabab and Pr. Fassi, with focus on:
• The payment made down to agency provider for hotel accommodation, the IOC visit to Morocco (Rabat & Marrakech) in 2019 to check the logistic and all related-preparation for the school in Marrakech. Marrakech has been selected by LOC in the original proposal to IOC in 2018.
• All the presents to kickoff meeting agreed to keep Marrakech as Venus for the School in 2024.
• Pr. Hoummada has presented the full support of Pr. Omar Fassi-Fihri, the Permanent Secretary of the Hassan II Academy of Sciences and Techniques. Besides, the Academy supports Marrakech as Venue of the School in 2024.
• Concerning to the date, the present LOC members suggest: from 7^th-21^th July 2024.
• LOC members: since the LOC current list has been established in 2018/2019, an e-mail will be sent to kindly ask LOC members if they still wish to continue forming part from LOC or not. At the same time, to be inclusive in this event, we will ask other members to join LOC, so as all Moroccan universities can be represented.

 

Finally, we have agreed to organize meetings every 8 weeks before summer, but from September 2023, the frequency will be increased to insure a close follow up of the all related tasks needed for the success of the school.
