Salient points:

Simon and Farida presented the ASFAP interim report and the way towards the final report. The current version of the report addresses some of the comments from Melissa and we encourage more feedback. More substantial comments on harmonization, implementation, synergy among the various working groups and with other Collaborations (e.g. SKA) or Institutions (e.g. ICTP, ISP) were recommended—computational physics was pointed out as example to develop capacity and an area where large scale research infrastructures like SKA can play a significant role.

The current report is a collection of information from various working groups, in different formats and levels of details. For the final report, there will be guidelines on the expected contributions from the working groups, and harmonization in format and presentation.

This strategy should help the various communities to know of each other, and it should be followed up with strategies on implementation and fundraising.

The recommendations from this strategy should be harmonized, and a prioritization process will be necessary to help identify actionable items through concrete projects.

The Steering Committee will work with the various groups towards the final report; the deadlines in the suggested timeline should be flexible to consider new initiatives (LOI, white papers).
