Hotels
There are many hotel options in the San Diego and La Jolla area within a reasonable distance to UC San Diego. Here are a few directly surrounding the local area or favorites of our visitors. The “SDSC Visitor Information” link below provides a broader list. Many of the local hotels will offer a university discount. Most discounts will require a phone call.

- Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa – located directly off campus (5 min walk)

- Sheraton La Jolla Hotel: This hotel offers special UCSD rates when available. Current 2023 discounted rates start at $219 (January to May, September to December) and $249 (June to August). These rates are based on hotel availability and subject to change at any time.

If the discounted rate is available, it will populate. If it’s not available, then the best available rate at that time will populate.

Parking & Transportation
Parking permits are required on the UC San Diego campus seven days a week: Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 11:00pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 10:30am to 11:00pm.
- Permits may be purchased online through the Transportation & Parking Services website or via the ParkMobile App.
- If using the ParkMobile App, enter zone number “47800” in the search field > Select “UCSD - Valid in B,S,D spaces” and proceed to finalize payment. Note: This conference rate is available at $8/day.
- The most convenient parking location is the Hopkins parking structure located on Hopkins Dr and Voigt Dr, just south of SDSC
- Alternatively, Pangea parking structure is also available.
- Both parking locations offer spaces in "B" (Green) and "S" (Yellow).
- Note: we do not recommend parking in the “V” (White) spaces, which are visitor spots, at the standard rate of est. $35/day.
- Parking legally is the attendee’s responsibility. The penalty for an improperly parked car is at least $65 per day. We cannot be held responsible for citations issued for parking in an incorrect space or improperly displaying your permit.
- Due to challenges with parking on-campus, we do advise using other methods such as some noted below if possible.
Transportation
Ride share services are recommended if you chose not to drive onto campus. UC San Diego also has new trolley service through MTS Blue Line Trolley.
