Description

Every year, the Swiss Physical Society (SPS) invites young people having participated with success at Swiss national and international science competitions to the Young Talent Day (YTD).

The morning of that day is used for a guided visit through one of the major Swiss research institutes to give some insight into present research topics and the atmosphere of modern laboratories. This year the visits will take place in the laboratories of the department of physics of the University of Basel, with the main focus on experimental Nano- & Quantum Physics.

The YTD is scheduled at the same day as the yearly SPS thematic symposium, this year the Blaise Pascal Symposium, to which the young talents are also invited to experience the life of scientists during national or international conferences.

Travel between home and the University of Basel (2nd class) as well as lunch are offered by the Swiss Physical Society and the Swiss Academy of Sciences.
