1. Quand vais-je être prévenu.e de la date et de l'horaire de l'intervention ?
Les inscriptions sont ouvertes jusqu'au 10 décembre 2023 (23h59). Une fois toutes les classes inscrites, nous préparerons un planning en fonction des disponibilités des intervenantes et des vôtres. Si nous avons une intervenante de disponible pour vous, vous recevrez la date et l'heure de l'intervention dans la semaine du 15 janvier 2024.
2. Quelles sont les informations que je dois fournir à l'intervenante avant l'événement ?
- Informations précises sur l'heure et le lieu de rendez-vous.
- Assurez-vous d'avoir un projecteur fonctionnel, indiquez à l'intervenantes quels types de câbles elle doit prévoir si elle emmène son propre ordinateur.
- Si la présentation sera projetée à partir d'un ordinateur de l'école, prière d'indiquer quel logiciel il est capable de lire (Power Point? Open Source?). Merci de vérifier à l'avance si la présentation fonctionne sur votre ordinateur.
- Possibilités de parking autour de votre école ou moyen de transport recommandé.
3. Pourquoi est-ce que les changements de disponibilité ne sont pas admis une fois que l'horaire m'a été communiqué ?
Le planning de la semaine est élaboré à partir des disponibilités et particularités d'environ 200 classes et 100 intervenantes volontaires pour répondre à un maximum de demandes. Les horaires de chaque intervenante ont été aménagés pour leur limiter le nombre de trajets. Dès lors, tout changement de disponibilité après que ce planning ait été élaboré portera préjudice à l'organisation et à l'intervenante volontaire.
4. Pourquoi est-ce important que je prépare ma classe à la venue d'une chercheuse ?
L'investissement de l'enseignant dans la préparation se reflétera dans la participation et l'intérêt des élèves à la présentation. C'est donc un facteur essentiel au succès de l'intervention, mais également une marque de respect essentielle pour le travail des volontaires.
5. Où trouver des ressources pour préparer ma classe à la visite ou pour poursuivre l'expérience ?
Des conseils pour préparer la venue d'une femme scientifique dans votre classe se trouvent sur la page Ressources. Vous y trouverez également des informations sur les programmes de l'EPFL, de la Faculté des sciences de l'UNIGE, du LAPP et du CERN pour les écoles.
6. Est-ce que la chercheuse va parler des inégalités de genre dans les disciplines scientifiques ?
C'est possible, mais pas obligatoire. L'objectif de l'initiative est de faire évoluer la perception des classes envers les métiers scientifiques, en présentant des rôles-modèles féminins.

1. When will I be notified about the date and time of the talk?
Registrations are open until 10 December 2023 (23:59). Once all classes are registered, we will prepare a schedule according to the availability of the speakers and to yours. If we have a speaker available for your class, you will receive the date and time of the talk in the week of the 15 January 2024.
2. What information do I need to give the speaker before the event?
- Accurate information about meeting time and place.
- Make sure you have a functional projector and tell the speaker what kind of cables she should bring to connect to it if she brings her own computer.
- If the presentation will be projected from a school computer, please indicate which software it is able to read (Power Point? Open Source?). Please check in advance if the presentation works on your computer.
- Parking possibilities around your school or recommended public transport.
3. Why are availability changes not allowed once the schedule has been communicated?
The schedule for the week is created on the basis of the availability and special requests of approximatively 200 classes and 100 volunteers, with the goal to accommodate as many requests from schools as possible. The schedule of each speaker his designed with the goal of limiting the number of trips. Therefore, any change in availability after this schedule has been sent will be detrimental to the organization and to the volunteer speaker.
4. Why is it important that I prepare my class for the researcher's visit?
The teacher's investment in the preparation will be reflected in the students' participation and interest in the presentation. It is therefore an essential factor for the success of the intervention as well as a basic mark of respect for the volunteers.
5. Where can I find resources to prepare my class for the visit or to go further after it?

6. Will the researcher talk about gender inequalities in science?
Not necessarily. The goal of the project is to change the perception of classes towards the STEM related professions, providing them with female role models.
