Description

Abstract: The standard model of particle physics is a remarkably successful theory. It has been tested by countless measurements and has withstood all attempts at its falsification. Jet substructure techniques offer new possibilities to test this exceptional theory and search for unknown effects. I will present how these techniques have evolved in the last decade and how these have already improved the LHC's physics potential in various areas. Jet substructure will play an important role in the future of the LHC and at future collider experiments.
