Abingdon U3A Science & Technology group, is part of Abingdon U3A which is part of the UK Nationwide network of U3A learning groups aimed at encouraging older people no longer working to share their knowledge, skills & interests in a friendly environment. Abingdon U3A has various groups one of which is the Science & Technology group. The Abingdon U3A S&T group usually has around 30 participants (but expect more for the CERN Zoom) & organizes some 9 live one hour talks throughout the year on various S&T subjects (i.e. Net Zero, Cancer & its causes, why does Britain not make anything anymore, etc).
Abingdon itself has been existence since pre-historic times & remains an attractive medieval market town with a beautiful river front. Annual membership of Abingdon U3A is £25/year.
