Practical Information

Transport to CERN:

From Geneva Airport, you can take a bus (23, 28 or 57) to Blandonnet and then tram 18 until the last stop, CERN. From the train station Cornavin, you can take tram 18 direction Meyrin, CERN. The last stop, CERN, is located in front of the Globe and the Science Gateway, as well as 2 minutes away from the Registration Service. Access badge:

To retrieve your CERN Visitor Badge, please go to the Registration Service at building 55 (room 56/R-006), from the tram stop (see map below). You can either print your badge yourself by entering the related code that was sent to you by email, or ask the employee to do it for you by showing your code. If you happen to arrive outside of working hours (8 AM - 6 PM), please go to the phone booth located in front of building 55 and print your badge on your own by entering your code.

 

Once at CERN:

For detailed maps of CERN, you may enter building numbers into the search field at the top of the CERN Maps webpage. 

  • Reception is located at the Science Gateway: Building 82
  • Registration Service: Building 55
  • Conference room: Building 37 (room 37/R-022)
  • Restaurant 1: Building 501
  • Restaurant 2: Building 504
  • CHARM: Building 157
  • Synchrocyclotron: Building 300

 

Site Visits:

Two site visits are planned on Tuesday 5 december:

A CHARM visit from 3.30 PM to 4.20 PM. Meeting point: the conference room.

A Synchrocyclotron & ATLAS Visitor Center Visit from 4.30 PM to 6 PM. Meeting point: The Synchrocyclotron (building 300).
