Eurostrings 2024 meets Fundamental Physics UK
This one-off joint conference will provide a platform for the high-energy theoretical physics community to meet, present new results, have exciting scientific discussions, and foster new collaborations. The University of Southampton will host this event during 2-6 September 2024. The conference aims to bring together researchers from continental Europe and the UK (and elsewhere!) by combining two annual conferences:
Eurostrings is a series of annual conferences gathering researchers from all over Europe and elsewhere, working on string theory, gauge/gravity duality, quantum gravity and quantum field theories, and the relations among them. Previous Eurostrings conferences were held in Gijon, Lyon, London, Milano, Leuven, Cambridge.
Fundamental Physics UK (FPUK) is an STFC-funded virtual theory centre, which coordinates theoretical physicists in the UK who work on formal topics in fundamental physics. FPUK organises annual 2.5-day summer meetings to bring together the UK hep-th community. Previous FPUK meetings were held in Durham, Swansea, among others.
Exceptionally, this year the FPUK summer meeting and the Eurostrings conference will be combined into a joint conference hosted at Southampton. The conference will aim to showcase hep-th physics from all around Europe, including from all regions of the UK.
There will be one review talk per day, and research talks in plenary sessions and parallel sessions.
There will be contributed talks in both plenary and parallel sessions.
