The International College of Beirut, a leading educational institution in Lebanon and the region, is proud to have visited CERN twice over the past few years. Its IB Physics students have participated in spectacular and highly educational tours in Geneva. Unfortunately, due to the unstable situation in the country and the region, the school had to regretfully cancel its scheduled tour for this year. However, we are fortunate and proud to have an IC alumnus, Zein Zbib, who graduated from the IB program at IC in 2019 and currently works at CERN. Zein and his colleagues have generously offered to provide us with a virtual tour of CERN. Our highly motivated and accomplished IB students study Particle Physics in their curriculum and are highly knowledgeable about the field and informed about CERN and the research that the scientists work on. This virtual tour would greatly benefit our students academically, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the field of Particle Physics and become more acquainted with the amazing work done in the field at CERN labs.
